Chip is the "driving force" to promote the development of the national intelligent technology industry and the "core gear" of the semiconductor industry. It is better to seek others than ourselves. The United States has repeatedly revised the new regulations of the chip market, making us realize the importance of core technology. Self-research is the only right way for the domestic semiconductor industry and intelligent technology industry.

There is a long way to go. It is not applicable to the semiconductor field to promote the growth of young people. It is basically unrealistic to catch up with and surpass foreign technologies in a short time. Therefore, we need to start from scratch. In fact, with regard to chip performance, the competitive pressure in the C-end consumer field has always been high. Similar countries' large-scale intelligent engineering construction and key digital fields do not have high requirements for chip processor performance and manufacturing process. Therefore, from the perspective of importance and status, the key construction items of revitalizing large-scale digitalization are the first step of domestic semiconductors.

Recently, Li Peng, the chief leader of the "Fuxi" team of the Digital Grid Research Institute of China Southern Power Grid, introduced the first domestic power master chip "Fuxi" (FUXI-H) based on domestic architecture instruction set and domestic core developed by the team. Li Peng said that at present, Fuxi chip has achieved mass production, and it is a home-made self-developed chip.

Before the introduction of "Fuxi" by Southern Digital Power Grid, the chips we used in the field of digital power grid were basically from abroad. One thing we should understand is that as the core device of the secondary equipment of the power grid, the power master control chip involves tens of millions of key devices of the power grid. It is not too bad to call it the "brain of power industry control". Obviously, such an important chip cannot rely on foreign imports for a long time.

Referring to the role of the main control chip in the national power grid, Li Peng stressed that "the security of the power main control chip is particularly important. If there are criminals who launch network attacks through the chip, the power system will be paralyzed, and then cause a large area of power failure". Therefore, it is very important to realize the localization of the core technology of the power master chip. Recognizing the importance of the power master chip, the "Fuxi" project team worked hard and carefully developed. After numerous experiments, the first version of the "Fuxi" prototype was successfully delivered at the end of 2019.

Due to the protection of intellectual property rights and the prevention of technology leakage, the author is not convenient to say more about the technical principles and speculation of "Fuxi" chip. Just briefly introduce the performance of "Fuxi" chip. It is understood that "Fuxi" chip is not only based on the pure domestic instruction set architecture and domestic core, but also the whole process from chip design to packaging is completed in China. In other words, "Fuxi" power master chip has realized the true sense of "self-sufficiency".

In terms of performance, the performance of "Fuxi" makes Chinese people feel proud. Li Peng said: "Fuxi"'s comprehensive performance is 1.5 times that of similar imported products, and its security and network storm resistance are 60 times that of imported chips. After being optimized and adjusted by researchers, the chip protection device developed based on the chip was successfully connected to the network. This will push the "Fuxi" processor towards a better and faster direction. Accelerate research and development, reduce costs and improve efficiency, and pave the way for the subsequent large-scale application of Fuxi chip.

Based on the first domestic instruction set architecture and domestic core, the birth of "Fuxi" power master chip marks the transformation of core chips in China's power industrial control field from "imported general-purpose" to "independent dedicated". Since then, the domestic power master chip has achieved independent control, and the security of the national grid has also been greatly improved, avoiding the situation of being "stuck" by foreign technology or being controlled by foreign countries. "Fuxi" chip ensures the supply safety of 100 billion yuan domestic power grid equipment.
